Although no longer training professionally, Debbie has been a horse owner for over 40 years. She is an active trail rider and has had fun teaching her young Appaloosa many tricks.
Growing up in a semi-rural area allowed Debbie the opportunity to own and love a long list and wide variety of domestic and exotic animals, including dogs, cats, ferrets, rats, rabbits, horses, goats, ducks, chickens, and turkeys--the two toms, Orville and Wilbur, were her favorites. Other birds that came under her care were finches, canaries, parakeets, cockatiels and a Moluccan cockatoo. Also included were fish, turtles, a snake, monkeys, and a non-releasable skunk.
Debbie has an extensive background as a wildlife rehabilitator and is licensed to work with the Opossum Society of the United States. Previous wildlife rehab experience includes, working at Sun Coast Sea Bird sanctuary in Indian Rocks, FL and on the Oil Spill Emergency Response Team at Tri State Bird Rescue in Wilmington, Delaware. Working as a rehabilitator has taught her valuable safe handling techniques when working with a variety of animals and given her experience with pre-vet triage and non-veterinarian medical care.
Animals have always been and continue to be the focal point of Debbie's life. Her credentials, extensive experience and background, and love of animals are valued assets, which she has to offer. Couple that with her reliable, intuitive training techniques, if that is your need, and you will find no better care for your pet.
